About

The New Zealand Cycling Festival is the premier weekend program celebrating all aspects of cycling competition and culture, held during Taranaki Anniversary weekend (10-13 March, 2017).

Held in partnership with the New Plymouth and South Taranaki District Councils, the festival is based in New Plymouth, and includes national participation events in road and track cycling, mountain biking, Rotz Dirt Jumping, Strider Events, Frocks on Bikes, Movie Night, Personal Challenge, Bike Art & Expo.

Family friendly, the focus is on participation and fun, with all events created for as many people as possible, of all abilities and fitness levels. The program has been created to give multi-category riders the opportunity to take part in as many different events as possible.

The Festival is the prime fund-raising venture of the NZ Cycle Festival Trust, dedicated to supporting all non-profit cycling-related activities in the wider community, schools and clubs. All Trustees and event organisers are volunteers.
