Ride the Iconic Surf Highway (SH45) in Taranaki – a ride for all cyclists. Hawera to New Plymouth via Surf Highway SH45.
Early start time for riders wishing to take 3 plus hours
The Surf Highway 100km Ride (2018) Starting at the TSB Hub Hawera, this is a ride north along the Surf Highway 45 to New Plumouth.
Rider categories include:
Open Solo $65, Bone Collector $40 each, Relay $40 each & Tandem $65 per bike.
All late (at registration) entries incur extra $10 charge.
The cycling route teases riders with some gnarly little climbs after Okato, up to there its mainly flat to the finish line along Centennial Drive near Back Beach New Plymouth. Again we have the category for the electric bike devotees to crank their “power” along the Surf Highway. Once completed, riders can enjoy a food, drinks and entertainment at the East End Skate Park, Fitzroy. Prize giving will be approximately 1.00pm at the skate park.
All entries include a free meal (vegetarian available) other food also available with a cash bar operating.
New Plymouth: Friday, March 9th 2018 at the East End Skate Park Fitzroy, New Plymouth, from 4:30 to 6.45 pm.
Hawera: TBC (Friday 9th)

All Rides will be a neutral group start, closely marshaled for the entire ride with motorbikes.

Bone Collector: Manaia – Opunake – Okato
Finish Line: Back Beach Road, / Centennial Drive New Plymouth
Terms and Conditions for the Surf Highway 100km Ride.
1.0 – Spot-prize Recipient must be present at prize giving to collect prize.
2.0 – There are no Gender or Age Group Categories.
2.1 – Your age group is your age on the day, no halves – (March 10th 2018).
2.2 – There are no water stations along the route.
2.3 – Depending on entrant numbers the ride start maybe staggered.
2.4 – The Surf Highway 100km Ride from Hawera to New Plymouth is limited to entries of 400 riders only.
