Ride the Iconic Surf Highway (SH45) in Taranaki – a ride for all cyclists. New Plymouth to Hawera via Surf Highway SH45.
Early start time for riders wishing to take 3 plus hours.
Many thanks to those who took part in the 2019 Surf Highway Ride. Final results, with audited time are available here: NZCFT2019F. Although the focus is on participation, we must acknowledge Glenn Kirk, fastest man (2 hrs 36 minutes) and Bev Ellice, fastest woman (3 hrs 44 minutes).
The Surf Highway 100km Ride will be back in 2020, on Saturday 7 March – mark the date! It will be starting in Hawera and travelling to Centennial Drive in New Plymouth (2019).
Rider categories include:
Open Solo $65, Bone Collector $40 each, Relay $40 each & Tandem $65 per bike.
OFFLINE (PAPER) AND LATE ENTRIES: Download and print the form (NZCF Late Entry Form) and bring to registration with cash.
All late (at registration) entries incur extra $10 charge.
The cycling route teases riders with a mainly flat through for the balance of the ride through to Okato, and then a few gnarly hills for the last 25 km.
Again we have the category for the electric bike devotees to crank their “power” along the Surf Highway. Prize giving will be approximately 12.30pm at the TSB Hub on Waihi Road Hawera.
New Plymouth: Friday, March 6th 2020 at the East End Skate Park Fitzroy, New Plymouth, from 4:30 to 6.45 pm.
Hawera: Hawera TSB Hub Thursday March 5th 4.30 – 6.30pm

Start Line: Hawera Primary School
4 hour Plus riders – Saturday, start 07:30 am: Rider Brief 07:15 am
3 Hour Plus Riders & E-Bikes – Saturday, Start 8.00 am:Ride Brief 7.45 am
Less than 3 Hours Riders – Saturday, Start: 09.00 am: Riders Brief 8:45 am
All Rides will be a neutral group start, closely marshalled for the entire ride with motorbikes.

Terms and Conditions for the Surf Highway 100km Ride.
1.0 – Spot-prize Recipient must be present at prize giving to collect prize.
2.0 – There are no Gender or Age Group Categories.
2.1 – Your age group is your age on the day, no halves – (March 9th 2019).
2.2 – There are no water stations along the route.
2.3 – Depending on entrant numbers the ride start maybe staggered.
2.4 – The Surf Highway 100km Ride from New Plymouth to Hawera is limited to entries of 400 riders only.
